Virology/Serology Section

We provide services to programs of the Public Health Division and the Office of Epidemiology, Evaluation, and Planning of the New Mexico Department of Health. Limited services are available to other programs which receive public funding. Contractual arrangements with other organizations may be available. Reference laboratory services are available to public and private laboratories throughout New Mexico.

The services we provide include virus isolation, virus identification, and a range of serological tests for infectious diseases of public health importance. Referral of specimens to other laboratories such as the CDC or other state laboratories is available for more specialized testing.
